A nurse log is a fallen tree or stump that facilitates growth through its own decay. As the year draws to a close we look forward to the ways in which it might foster growth for the future. Our nurse log has splintered into multiple parts allowing for exploration and habitation. The lush interior includes reflective panels to create a dynamic experience and woven throughout the log are 3000 addressable LED pixels which will display animated effects and welcoming pulses. As visitors pass through the sanctuary soft sounds emanate from the foliage transporting guests to the eventual renewal of spring while in the depths of winter.
